生原稿を中心に、手塚治虫の情熱と執念を大解剖！

医療マンガ、手塚治虫の『ブラック・ジャック』は50年前の1973年に登場しました。手塚治虫が切り拓いた“MANGA”、“ANIME”の世界はいま、世界中の人々にリスペクトされる大きな文化となっています。『ブラック・ジャック』は現在第一線で活躍する医療従事者の多くに影響を与えたといわれている作品で、そこに込められたテーマやメッセージは、いまの人の心にも深い感銘を与えるものです。
顔に傷のある黒ずくめの天才外科医ブラック・ジャックと彼が生んだ“18歳で0歳”の女の子ピノコ。強力なキャラクターたちが繰り広げる物語は世界を舞台に、人間や生きものの命とそれを救う医療、人としての生きざまや、そもそも「医者は何のためにあるのだ」という根本的な問いにまで至る、数多くのテーマから紡ぎ出されています。
本展は、マンガ『ブラック・ジャック』をとおして、誕生秘話から作品そのものがもつ手塚治虫の深いヒューマニズムや、コロナ禍を経験した私たちがいま見ても斬新に感じる医療の描写など、『ブラック・ジャック』を深くまで知る人、初めて知る世代、そして世界のファンへ向けて、名作『ブラック・ジャック』の魅力を存分にお楽しみいただける展覧会です。

The medical manga “Black Jack” by Tezuka Osamu made its debut in 1973, 50 years ago. Tezuka Osamu revolutionized the world of “MANGA” and “ANIME,” creating a cultural phenomenon that is respected worldwide. “Black Jack” is considered a masterpiece that continues to influence medical professionals and readers alike with its themes and messages that resonate deeply even today.

The story centers around the enigmatic surgeon Black Jack, who has a scarred face, and his 18-year-old assistant, the vivacious Pinoko. Through their compelling adventures, the narrative explores the essence of what it means to be a doctor, weaving numerous themes around the question, “What does it mean to be a healer?”
