禅寺で一人の（クリエイティブな）人生の紹介
私は「一つの道を極める」とは正反対の道を歩んでいる。様々なものを展示して、こんな人生があってもいいじゃないか。という展覧会である。会場で人生について、そして禅について雑談できることも楽しみにしている。
In Japan, people value diving deep into one field and becoming an expert. But my life’s a bit different. This exhibition is a glimpse into my creative journey. I’d love to chat with you about life and Zen at the temple.
会場は、単なる作品展示にとどまらず、「一人の（クリエイティブな）人生の紹介」として構成されます。来場者が作品や空間を通して作家本人と語り合い、また会場である妙心寺の住職と禅について話す機会もございます。雑談の中に人生の核心が垣間見える、他に類を見ない場となることを目指します。田窪麻周は、絵画・彫刻・工芸と分野を横断しながら、おもに日々の暮らしに根ざした表現を続けてきました。器をつくり、それに盛る料理を考え、それらを美しく見せるためにテーブルや椅子をつくり、さらにその空間を包み込む壁画を描く。そのように生活と創作が一体化した活動を中心として行ってきた稀有な存在です。独自の感性が息づいており、今回の展覧会ではその多面的な創造の全容をご覧いただけます。Throughout his career, Takubo has created works that transcend boundaries between painting, sculpture, and crafts. His distinctive sensibility runs through all of his work, and this exhibition offers a comprehensive view of his multifaceted creativity.
The exhibition will be organized not merely as a display of works, but as a portrait of one creative life. Visitors will have the opportunity to engage in dialogue with the artist through his works and spaces, and also to converse with the resident priest of Myoshin-ji Temple about Zen. It is our hope that this will become a unique and intimate space—one where glimpses of life’s essence may emerge through conversation.
