フォトグラファー半田広徳が ライフワークとして撮り続けてきた自然界の美しさと、そこに暮らす人間界の豊かさを 掛け軸という日本の伝統文化を用いて表現する。
色や形や光や出会うタイミングは、今のこの一瞬であり、また永続し 回転し続けるものでもある。なにげない日常の中にも、自然の 美しさやタイミングに偶然は 一つもなく、すべてが総合体であり、すべてに神様の意志がある。そのような神様の作りし物たちを一瞬一瞬を切り取り、写真に収めた。
本展覧会は、「KYOTOGRAPHIE京都国際写真祭」と連携・同時開催されるサテライトイベントKG＋の公式プログラムです。

◯アーティストプロフィール
半田広徳｜Hironori Handa
写真家。1958年 福岡出身。六本木スタジオを経て藤井英男氏に師事。1986年フリーカメラマンになる。 ファッション雑誌「non・no」「Lee」「Men’s non・no」などの表紙をはじめ各種ファッションページや、カタログ、広告の撮影で活躍。また、アメリカンエキスプレスの会報誌 「impression」で市川団十郎氏の舞台撮影や、京都冷泉家の特集撮影において貝合わせ等の文化的な写真が好評を博す。以後、鳩山友紀夫婦人 鳩山幸氏の料理本のシリーズや、天皇陛下執刀医 天野篤氏の書籍の撮影、生活経済評論家 沖幸子氏の「ドイツ流総司の賢人」等の書籍撮影を手掛ける。また人形作家 米山京子氏、米山マリ氏のカレンダー等の撮影も毎年恒例となっている。自然界の調和と、そこに暮らす人々がいきいきと輝く瞬間を、柔らかで鮮明な光の中で撮り続けている。

Photographer Hironori Handa expresses the beauty of nature and the richness of human life, captured as his lifelong work, through the traditional Japanese art of hanging scrolls (kakejiku). The colors, shapes, light, and timing of encounters are moments that exist only in the present, yet they are also eternal and continuously evolving. There is no coincidence in the beauty of nature or timing in our daily lives; everything is interconnected, and everything has the will of the god behind it. Handa captures these divine creations in fleeting moments, preserving them through photography.
This exhibition is part of KG+ 2025, held in conjunction with “KYOTOGRAPHIE” International Photography Festival 2025.

Artist Profile
Hironori Handa
Photographer. Born in 1958 in Fukuoka, Japan. After working at Roppongi studio in Tokyo, he studied under photographer Hideo Fujii. He became a freelance photographer in 1986. Handa has worked extensively in fashion photography, shooting covers for magazines like non-no, Lee, and Men’s non-no, along with various fashion pages, catalogs, and advertisements. His cultural photographs, such as those of Kabuki actor Danjuro Ichikawa’s stage performances and cultural features like the shell-matching ceremony of the Reizei family in Kyoto, gained critical acclaim. He has also photographed for cookbooks by Yuko Hatoyama, the wife of former Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama, as well as books by Dr. Atsushi Amano, the emperor's personal physician, and works by economic commentator Sachiko Oki. Additionally, he has annually photographed calendars for doll artists Kyoko and Mari Yoneyama. Handa continuously captures moments where the harmony of nature and the vibrant lives of its inhabitants are illuminated in soft, vivid light.
